FAQs

Everything you need to know about creating, managing, and optimising your AI-powered ad campaigns.

Getting Started

GlitchAds is an AI-powered advertising platform that helps businesses create, manage, and optimise Google Ads campaigns. The platform uses artificial intelligence to generate ad copy, select keywords, monitor performance, and recommend optimisations -saving you time and improving your return on ad spend.

To get started with GlitchAds you need:

  • A Google account -used for sign-in and connecting your Google Ads account
  • A Google Ads account -this is where your campaigns will run
  • A business website -GlitchAds analyses your site to understand your business and generate relevant ad content

If you don't have a Google Ads account yet, you can create one for free at ads.google.com.

After signing up, you'll enter your website URL and GlitchAds takes it from there. The platform automatically analyses your website and generates your business profile, including:

  • Business details -company name, industry, and description
  • Brand voice -tone and personality settings inferred from your content
  • Products and services -what you offer, pulled from your site
  • Customer profile -who you're targeting and what trust signals matter
  • Landing pages -key pages from your site for use in campaigns

All you need to do is review what GlitchAds has generated and approve it. You can adjust anything before moving on to campaign creation.

GlitchAds connects via Google OAuth. When you sign in with your Google account, you'll be asked to grant permission for GlitchAds to manage your Google Ads campaigns. This is a secure, standard Google authorisation flow -GlitchAds never sees or stores your Google password.

You can revoke access at any time from your Google account security settings.

Once your profile is set up, GlitchAds will suggest creating your first campaigns. For most businesses, this means a Brand Campaign (to protect your brand name in search) and a Prospecting Campaign (to reach new potential customers).

The AI will generate headlines, descriptions, and keywords based on your business profile. You review everything before anything goes live -you're always in control.

Campaigns

GlitchAds supports several campaign types:

  • Brand Campaign -Targets your own brand name with an exact-match keyword and fixed headlines. Protects your brand from competitors bidding on your name.
  • Prospecting Campaign -The main campaign type for customer acquisition. Targets multiple keywords across the funnel to reach new potential customers.
  • Competitor Campaign -Targets competitor brand names to capture customers who are actively evaluating alternatives.

Advanced campaign types (auto-generated):

  • High Performers -When the AI spots a keyword driving a disproportionate share of conversions, it creates a dedicated campaign to maximise that keyword's potential.
  • Location -When a geographic area consistently outperforms your account average, GlitchAds creates a geo-targeted campaign for that region.
  • ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) -The AI detects distinct customer segments from your search data and creates campaigns with tailored messaging for each audience.

Creating a campaign is a guided process:

  1. Choose a campaign type -Brand, Prospecting, or Competitor
  2. AI generates content -headlines, descriptions, and keywords are created automatically based on your business profile
  3. Set your budget -daily or monthly budget for the campaign
  4. Review and approve -check all generated content before deploying
  5. Deploy -your campaign goes live on Google Ads

The entire process takes just a few minutes. The AI handles the heavy lifting while you keep full approval control.

A Brand Campaign bids on your own company name as a keyword. This ensures that when someone searches for your brand, your ad appears at the top -above any competitors who may be bidding on your name.

Brand Campaigns typically have very high click-through rates and low cost-per-click because the searcher already knows your brand. They're one of the most cost-effective campaign types and are recommended for every business.

A Prospecting Campaign targets potential customers who don't yet know your brand. It uses a range of keywords across different funnel stages:

  • Top of funnel -broad awareness terms related to your industry
  • Middle of funnel -consideration-stage terms where people are evaluating options
  • Bottom of funnel -high-intent terms from people ready to buy

This is the standard campaign type for customer acquisition and is where most of your ad budget will typically go.

A Competitor Campaign targets the brand names of your competitors as keywords. When someone searches for a competitor, your ad can appear alongside or above their results, giving you a chance to win that customer.

Competitor Campaigns are a great way to get in front of customers who are already shopping in your space but haven't discovered you yet.

Yes. Every campaign has a full management dashboard where you can fine-tune performance:

  • Overview -edit campaign details, phone number, and business description
  • Budget -adjust your daily budget, bidding strategy, target CPA, target ROAS, and ad schedule
  • Targeting -search and add geographic locations, or remove underperforming ones
  • Sitelinks -add, edit, or remove the extra links shown beneath your ads
  • Callouts -manage promotional text snippets at account or campaign level
  • Negatives -add negative keywords to exclude irrelevant search terms
  • Ads -view individual ads, their status, and performance

You can also copy, pause, resume, or delete campaigns from the toolbar. Any changes you make are saved as a draft until you deploy them to Google Ads.

AI & Automation

GlitchAds combines your unique business context with deep advertising expertise to produce ad content that performs from day one. The AI draws on:

  • Your company description and products or services
  • Your brand voice settings (formality, humour, enthusiasm etc)
  • Your target customers and their pain points
  • Content from your landing pages
  • Google Ads best practices for headline structure, keyword match types, and ad relevance
  • Proprietary training data built from high-performing keywords and ad copy across industries
  • Industry-specific knowledge to ensure your messaging resonates with the right audience

The result is ad copy and keyword selections that are tailored to your brand, optimised for Google Ads, and informed by real performance data. All generated content respects Google Ads character limits, and you always review and approve before anything goes live.

GlitchAds continuously analyses your campaign performance and generates optimisation recommendations:

  • Add keywords -new keyword opportunities identified from search term data
  • Pause keywords -underperforming keywords that are wasting budget
  • Negative keywords -exclude irrelevant search terms
  • High Performers campaign -a dedicated campaign for a keyword driving a disproportionate share of conversions
  • Location campaign -a geo-targeted campaign for a region that consistently outperforms your average
  • ICP campaign -a campaign tailored to a specific customer segment detected in your search data

Each recommendation comes with a confidence score and clear reasoning, so you can make informed decisions.

It depends on the type. Campaign-level optimisations like adding, pausing, or negating keywords are applied automatically so your campaigns stay sharp without you having to lift a finger. If you disagree with a change, you can undo it from the activity log.

Bigger changes that affect your budget, like creating a new campaign or adjusting spend, require your manual approval before anything is applied. You'll see these as recommendations in the Optimisations page with clear reasoning and a confidence score.

Every optimisation recommendation includes a confidence score -a percentage indicating how certain the AI is that the action will improve performance. Higher confidence means more data supports the recommendation.

Use confidence scores to prioritise which recommendations to act on first. High-confidence recommendations are typically based on clear performance trends with sufficient data.

Yes. In your Business profile under the Brand tab, you can adjust four voice dimensions:

  • Formality -from corporate and professional to casual and conversational
  • Humour -from serious and straightforward to playful and witty
  • Respect -from reverent and traditional to irreverent and bold
  • Enthusiasm -from data-driven and measured to energetic and excited

The AI uses these settings when generating all ad copy, ensuring your ads sound like your brand.

Performance & Reports

GlitchAds provides several ways to monitor performance:

  • Campaign view -click any campaign to see its performance metrics, ads, and keywords
  • Performance page -cross-campaign analytics with traffic, cost, and conversion breakdowns
  • Reports -automated weekly and monthly performance reports

You can filter by individual campaigns or view all campaigns together, and adjust time ranges from 14 days to 12 weeks.

GlitchAds generates the following report types:

  • Weekly Performance Report -a summary of campaign metrics, trends, and highlights from the past week
  • Google Ads Report -an in-depth review of your Google Ads account, covering structure, spend, and performance
  • Business Report -an AI-driven analysis of your brand, positioning, and market presence
  • Competitor Report -competitive analysis showing how you compare to tracked competitors

Reports can be downloaded as PDFs for sharing with your team or stakeholders.

The most important metrics depend on your goals, but here are the key ones:

  • Impressions -how many times your ads were shown
  • Clicks -how many people clicked your ad
  • CTR (Click-Through Rate) -percentage of impressions that resulted in clicks; indicates ad relevance
  • Cost -total spend across your campaigns
  • Conversions -completed actions (purchases, sign-ups, etc.)
  • CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) -how much each conversion costs you

GlitchAds highlights the metrics that matter most and uses them to drive optimisation recommendations.

Yes. GlitchAds sends daily digest emails summarising your campaign performance, optimisation recommendations, and any manual approvals needed. You can configure your email preferences in Settings under the Account tab:

  • Optimisation recommendations
  • Campaign updates
  • System alerts

You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in the email footer.

Conversion Tracking

Conversion tracking measures the actions people take after clicking your ad, such as making a purchase, signing up, or submitting a lead form. It tells you which campaigns, keywords, and ads are actually driving results -not just clicks.

Without conversion tracking, you can see how many people clicked your ad but not whether those clicks led to anything valuable.

No, conversion tracking is not required to create and run campaigns. However, it is strongly recommended. Without it, features like Target CPA bidding and conversion-based optimisations won't be available, and GlitchAds won't be able to measure the true return on your ad spend.

You can set up conversion tracking from Assets → Google:

  1. Choose a conversion type -website or call
  2. Configure the details -name, category (e.g. purchase, lead, sign-up), and optional default value
  3. Install the tracking snippet -for website conversions, GlitchAds provides a Global Site Tag and Event Snippet to add to your site

Once installed, conversion data typically starts appearing within 24 hours. If you're unsure whether your conversion tracking is set up correctly, GlitchAds also offers a conversion tracking audit service. Reach out via the in-app chat or email [email protected].

Target CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) is a bidding strategy where Google Ads automatically adjusts your bids to get as many conversions as possible at your target cost. For example, if you set a Target CPA of $50, Google will aim to get each conversion for around $50.

Target CPA requires active conversion tracking. If conversion tracking is not enabled on your Google Ads account, the Target CPA option will be unavailable in your campaign settings.

Competitors

GlitchAds lets you add competitors by name or website URL. The platform analyses each competitor and assigns a relationship score:

  • Direct -head-to-head competitor in the same space
  • Adjacent -related business with overlapping audience
  • Complementary -a business that serves the same audience differently

You can generate competitor intelligence reports and create targeted competitor campaigns directly from the Competitors page.

A competitor intelligence report is an AI-generated analysis of a specific competitor. It covers their online presence, positioning, strengths, and weaknesses -giving you insights to differentiate your ads and messaging.

These reports are available as downloadable PDFs and can be regenerated as competitors evolve.

You can add as many competitors as you like to your tracking list.

Troubleshooting

If GlitchAds can't access your website, check the following:

  • Make sure your website is publicly accessible (not behind a login or VPN)
  • Check that your site isn't blocking automated requests via robots.txt or a firewall
  • Ensure the URL you entered is correct and includes the full address (e.g., https://www.example.com)

If the issue persists, you can manually enter your business details in the Business profile page instead of relying on automatic scraping.

Campaign deployment can be affected by several factors:

  • Google Ads account issues -ensure your Google Ads account is active and has a valid payment method
  • Authorisation expired -try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account
  • Content generation in progress -the AI may still be generating headlines and keywords; check the deployment page for status
  • Budget not set -make sure you've set a budget for the campaign

If the deployment fails, you'll see an error message with details. You can retry the deployment from the campaign page.

Optimisation recommendations are generated based on campaign performance data. If you're not seeing any:

  • Campaigns are too new -the AI needs sufficient data. Allow at least a few days of activity.
  • Low traffic -campaigns with very few impressions or clicks may not have enough data.
  • Campaigns are paused -paused campaigns don't generate new performance data.

Once your campaigns have enough performance history, recommendations will appear automatically in the Optimisations page.
